Pledge to get moving with Chris Powell, Walmart, and Degree!

If you are a longtime reader, you know that my tagline has always been “never underestimate the power of a workout”.  When you are feeling down, stressed, anxious, etc. there is no better mental boost than a workout— I PROMISE!!

When I heard about Walmart’s Get Moving Summer Fitness Challenge with Degree® and celebrity trainer Chris Powell, I was instantly on board!  (Chris Powell is awesome by the way. I got to meet him and his wife a few years ago and they are the real deal!)

I say this all the time—no matter how busy your life is, there is always time for SOMETHING.  Give up the all or nothing mindset and just do SOMETHING.

Here are 6 great mini-workouts you can do anywhere.
If you are worried about fitting workouts in while you are a busy parent,  INVOLVE your kids! I do this all the time.  At the park, in the driveway, etc.  Be creative!  Watch the video clip from Chris  (yes, I refer to him like we are best buddies!) on some ideas on how you can workout without sacrificing your family time.

I have some people email me and say “well, I work in an office all day long and there isn’t anything I can do”.   That’s not true.  I used to work in the corporate world and the stairwell is a great resource.  Get off the elevator and climb those stairs as much as you can!

When there is a will, there is a way. 

I woke up today feeling really down. My kids are gone for the weekend, I don’t really have a “tribe” to lean on, and I ate way too many cookies last night because I let emotional eating take over. (again)   I wanted to just sit on the couch and feel sad but I forced myself outside for some tire flipping.  I got to flip away the sadness and frustration and after just 5 minutes I felt SO MUCH BETTER!  I was also covered in sweat because it happens to be the hottest day of the summer.
