3 Fat-Burning SECRETS about Restaurant Eating

Everyone, from time to time, splurges a little bit and goes out to eat, or grabs a quick meal at a fast-food chain.
However, if you are not careful, you may fall for some common tricks that are present in every restaurant or fast-food chain.
Let me explain…
Three Sneaky Restaurant Tricks
Eating one meal out will not necessarily destroy your weight loss goals.
However, the more frequently you eat out, the harder it may be for you to lose weight and keep it off.
You see, restaurants and fast-food chains have many secrets that are designed to help them sell more food and make more profit.
The sad news is it usually results in you eating more calories, fat, trans-fats, and sodium, which could ruin the gains you have made in your weight loss goals.
Before you go out to eat next time, keep these three tips in mind:
1. It’s Awfully Loud In Here
Restaurants are very crafty at getting people in and out of their establishments.
The number one way they do this: they blast loud music.
Not only does louder music give you a headache, but it makes you eat faster – meaning they can get you in and out quickly.
This could spell bad news for your belly, since it takes 20 minutes for your stomach to let your brain know that you are full.
So that burger or steak you just wolfed down in order to soothe the ringing in your ears, still hasn’t registered in your brain.

Do you notice anything out of the ordinary?

What about the pictures? Are they placed there for a reason?
Of course they are!

This option is by far the most expensive and most likely, the unhealthiest as well.

3. The Walls are Painted a Certain Way
Psychologically speaking, a well-designed restaurant has a wide variety of colors on their walls for you to look at.
Is this by chance?
Certain colors have been shown to evoke certain emotions in people.
Take for instance the color red or yellow; both are considered “warm” colors, which may stimulate a wide variety of emotions.
However, in the restaurant business, red and yellow have been shown to stimulate hunger, which could make you want to eat.
Chances are, that desire to eat and the loud music, may easily lead you to overeat and put too many calories in your body, therefore promoting weight gain.

Top SECRET to be a Weight Loss Hack

Client Q: "I am working out 5-6 days a week for 1-2 hours every workout. I'm not losing any weight and I'm starting to get frustrated and skip some workouts!"
Mark's A: There could be many factors including:

a) Your body might have reached a plateau. Weight often comes off easily at the beginning of a workout program. But then your body adapts to your workouts. When this happens, you need to vary your workout routines and intensity.
Do different lifts for the different body parts, such as substituting bench presses with stability ball dumbbell presses or doing step-ups and walking lunges instead of leg presses and regular squats. A shorter, more intense 30-minute full-body superset workout will work better than a 1 hour weight workout when you are trying to lose body fat and weight.
Other ways to change up your workouts include (but not limited to):
Also, 20-minute sprint interval cardio sessions will save your muscle mass while helping you burn fat.
b) It is more important to burn body fat and inches than it is to lose weight. Consistent fat-burning signals that you are transforming your body to lean. And, you will be burning dangerous belly fat, which research proves is a precursor to diseases such as cancer and heart disease.
Have your body fat percentage checked and your circumference measurements done by a trainer on a weekly basis to see how much fat and inches you have lost. If you want to measure it yourself, I recommend Accu-Measure.
Never depend only on the weigh scale to measure progress. Many people are skinny-fat.
Muscle weighs more than fat, so your body could be shrinking. Don't worry, the weight loss will take care of itself over time.
c) Longer workouts are not always better. You could be over-training. Shorter, more intense workouts burn more fat. An intense, 20-minute interval cardio session will give you better health and cardio benefits than a slow 1 hour cardio session.
d) You need to know your basal metabolic rate-BMR (how many calories your body would burn each day if you did nothing). Base your daily caloric intake on your BMR, activity level and goals. You will need to eat enough to burn fat and lose weight if body transformation is your goal.
If you don't eat enough (severe calorie restriction), your body will begin to store fat for survival because it thinks you are starving. For example, eating 1,000 calories a day for 4-5 straight days will slow your metabolism and cause you to begin to store fat.
Continue to eat right and exercise. When you do that, you will win the fitness war even if you lose a few battles along the way. You probably need to exercise smarter! Keep exercising and eating healthy and your heart, mind and body will thank you!

Like so many others, Kris Berg, EdD, an exercise physiologist at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, has observed the rapid-fire increase in obesity that has recently been labeled an “epidemic.”

“For those with type 2 diabetes, the actual cause of diabetes is inactivity and weight gain,” says Berg. “These factors produce insulin resistance. We know today that even in genetically susceptible people, exercise can prevent type 2. So, a major goal for type 2s should be to become active for the rest of their lives.”
So, here are my 8 good tips to keep shaping your lean body:
1. High body fat is not good even if you have normal body weight. You may need to revamp your workouts so that you can make better progress. It matters how you workout. Some of you are still doing the same poorly designed workouts and getting the same "little or no success results" from your workouts.
For instance, I see many people at gyms who only do cardio workouts on machines. That's better than doing nothing but your body will not tone up with just doing cardio. You need to do regular strength training for your body to change from fat to lean.
2. Are you frustrated with your results because you have been following a workout program you found in a fitness magazine? This is better than you trying to figure it all out on your own. But a program found in a magazine is not individualized for your specific fat loss needs and goals. And, you may not even like the exercises you are doing. You will eventually quit something that you don't like.
3. Are you ready to give up the fight to get lean and healthy because you are overwhelmed? You don't believe you can really get a "leaned out" body? This is not the time for you to quit. It is the time to get expert guidance from a trainer who can help you visualize goals and give you feedback.
4. Are you still eating like you always have and just trying to workout longer and harder? The only problem with this tactic is that it does no good to burn 500 calories during a workout and later eat 900 calories of bad food.
Get ready to change your eating habits, for health and fitness. If you daily eat more calories than you burn, you will continue to gain weight.
And, you need to start eating mainly whole, natural foods that leave you nourished and satisfied on fewer calories. Quality calories matter. Eating 600 calories of junk food is not the same as eating 600 calories of lean chicken, vegetables and fruit.

Stop thinking so much about heart rates, exercise technique, intensity, repetitions, cardio or any of that stuff. Those things do have their place but just have fun with your exercises. Find cardio exercises that you like and weight training exercises that you like.
When it comes to exercise, research has proven that you are more likely to stay with your exercise program if you enjoy it. But, no matter how much you enjoy exercise, you still need something else to "keep it going." You guessed it! Determination (perseverance). Its the "bulldog mentality" that nothing is going to keep me from reaching my fitness goals. When you have those "bad days," its determination that will pull you through.
Don't quit exercising, make adjustments and keep going!
